Anacortes School District will host a documentary film series this year focused on the strategic pillar of equity. Monthly screenings will be followed by a discussion panel with specific community partners and members of our school community. If you are interested in participating on one or more of the panels, or you would like more information on any of the films, please let me know.
Equity Film Festival – A Community Conversations Series
Please join the Anacortes School District and community partners for a very special monthly film series this school year featuring current documentaries and great conversations exploring topics of equity and inclusion. Race, gender, disability, displaced families and other complex issues will be our themes as we share in the immersive experience of film and engage in discussion after each documentary. With special thanks to the Anacortes Arts Festival for series support.
This month’s film: Becoming Bulletproof – Octorber 25 @ 7:00 pm – AHS Library
In Becoming Bulletproof, a group of disabled and able-bodied actors create great art and celebrate diversity, disability, friendship, community and “the knowledge that we all matter to each other” as they make a Western together.
