Fiscal Technician 3 Head Start
The Fiscal Technician 3 provides fiscal support using independent judgment in the interpretation and application of a variety of rules and procedures in the area of Accounts Payable. This position handles a high volume of paper documents, verifying and matching payment documents, preparing payments and inputting data into the accounting system. A meticulous, confident, detail-oriented self-starter with prior experience in accounts payable is desired. Strong customer service skills will be essential in effectively working with vendors and staff at all levels of the College in resolving accounts payable items and related issues.
This is a 12-month, full-time, classified position working 40 hours per week at the main Head Start Center in Mount Vernon, WA. This position reports to the Director.
Salary: $2,864.00 – $3,792.00 Monthly
Head Start Assistant Teacher
Skagit/Islands Head Start is anticipating openings for multiple Assistant Teacher ECPS2 positions at Head Start centers in Skagit and Island counties, including Burlington, Concrete, La Conner, Mount Vernon, Oak Harbor, and Sedro Woolley. Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families by providing comprehensive services in early learning, health, and family well-being. These positions provide high quality early learning services while engaging in innovative practices and approaches that center on the children that Head Start serves. Working under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher positions ensure there is an engaging and safe classroom environment at all times. Head Start teachers and staff look at the child holistically, individualizing for the needs of each child. The Assistant Teacher will strive to create a warm, nurturing classroom environment, while building supportive relationships with the children and the team.

Head Start Center Manager & Family Advocate
Skagit/Islands Head Start (SIHS) is accepting applications for multiple anticipated vacancies for the positions of Center Manager (ECPS4) and Center Manager/Family Advocate (CM/FA) in Skagit County, including Burlington and Mount Vernon. Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income and vulnerable families by providing comprehensive services in early learning, health, and family well-being. Head Start teachers and staff look at the child holistically, individualizing for the needs of each child.
Working in partnership with the Director and other leadership staff, the ECPS4 Center Manager & Center Manager/FA positions are key leadership roles that oversee, organize, execute, facilitate, and supervise the necessary functions of an individual Head Start site (referred to as Centers). The Center Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the center while maintaining a quality educational learning program in accordance with applicable Head Start Performance Standards and SIHS Policies and Procedures at the Center level. The Center Manager maintains cordial relationships with staff, co-workers and community resource agencies. Center Managers are responsible for overseeing a center budget, monitoring inventory, and maintaining reports and applicable paperwork. The Center Manager functions as liaison and information conduit between the center, Director, Head Start Leadership at the Central Office, and community partners. The Center Manager may fill-in and support center teams, assisting with educational learning activities and instruction.
Salary: $3,887.00 – $5,229.00 Monthly
Head Start Teacher – Skagit & Islands Counties
Skagit/Islands Head Start is anticipating multiple vacancies for Teacher ECPS3 positions in Skagit and Island counties. Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families by providing comprehensive services in early learning, health, and family well-being. The primary responsibility of the Head Start Teacher is to plan and implement the educational program in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and Skagit/Islands Head Start Policies and Procedures. The incumbent will work with the Center Team, other Head Start staff, parents and school district staff in all aspects of center planning and activities. These positions will work under general direction of the Center Manager. The incumbent will work with the Center Manager regarding center program activities.
Salary: $3,294.00 – $4,398.00 Monthly
