School Readiness
School Readiness means that children are ready for school, families are ready to support children’s learning, and schools are ready for children. This training will introduce and model instructional techniques measured in the CLASS: emotional support, well-organized learning environments, and instructional techniques. STEM in Early Care and Education
This engaging training provides an overview of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as it applies to teaching young children. Participants will discuss the components of teaching STEM with a focus on hands-on discovery learning. The class covers methods of best practice for teaching young children and how to use inquiry to develop new ideas and solve problems. Washington State guidelines will be applied to assist participants in their planning of STEM activities for young children.

Inspiring Peak Performance: Competence, Commitment, and Collaboration
Imagine what your early childhood program would look like if it were a true professional learning community—a place where teachers saw each new day as an opportunity to expand their competence and confidence and support one another toward a shared vision of program excellence. In Inspiring Peak Performance, participants will learn about and implement five strategies—developmental supervision, teacher induction, individual learning plans, peer learning teams, and 360-degree feedback—that together will help make your vision of program excellence come alive.

Participants will receive:
• 6 STARS continuing education hours in Professional Development and Leadership (a $60 value)
• A copy for each participating program of Inspiring Peak Performance: Competence, Commitment, and Collaboration by Paula Jorde Bloom, Ann Hentschel, and Jill Bella (a $24 value)
• 6 hours of 1:1 coaching to support implementation of goals and action plans (a $240 value)
• Additional tools and resources to support implementation of leadership plans

The understanding and respect of children’s cultural heritage is a foundation stone for their social/emotional well-being and intellectual development. This training helps early childhood educators to reflect on their daily caregiving and teaching practices of young children, heighten their level of awareness of cultural influences, and increase their ability to interact competently with children and families.
