P-3 Alignment Literacy Training
The P-3 Alignment Literacy Training provides an overview of the David Matteson Literacy Approach as it applies to teaching preschool-aged children. Participants will discuss the components of early literacy development for young children with group activities focused on evidence-based methods for teaching beginning literacy concepts. The training will cover best practice for using wordless books, teacher modeled storytelling/story writing, and using opportunities for children’s oral language and fine motor skill development.

Active Play and Healthy Eating Practices in Child Care
Join us for a discussion on how physical activity and healthy eating prepare children for school and learn how to work with various tools to incorporate physical play and healthy eating into daily practice. This training is based on a training originally facilitated by the Early Achievers Health Connections Project and is suitable for all licensed family child care providers, child care center classroom teachers, and administrators. Bonus – A raffle will be held for free classroom materials at the end of the training. Wahoo!

STEM in Early Care & Education (Register soon – only 3 spots left)
This engaging training provides an overview of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as it applies to teaching young children. Participants will discuss the components of teaching STEM with a focus on hands-on discovery learning. The class covers methods of best practice for teaching young children and how to use inquiry to develop new ideas and solve problems. Washington State guidelines will be applied to assist participants in their planning of STEM activities for young children.
